The School of Engineering works closely with industry and other funders and is often able to offer one-off PhD studentships sponsored by our industrial partners, or as part of research projects.

Depending on the subject of their research projects postgraduate research students may be charged bench fees to cover the costs of their research over the duration of their registration.  Details of any bench fees can be discussed with your potential supervisor and will be included within your formal offer letter prior to your acceptance of a place or the commencement of your studies.

EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Water Inforrmatics: Science and Engineering (WISE)

Applications are nvited for 4-year fully-funded PhD studentships as part of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Water Informatics: Science and Engineering (WISE).  This centre-of-excellence acts as a hub of international and industrial collaborations, training scientists and engineers with the relevant skills, knowledge and professional attributes across industry and academia. 

China Scholarship Council

The China Scholarship Council funds Chinese university students to study overseas for PhD degrees in the fields of science and technology. CSC awards typically cover air fares and living costs for up to four years. For further details please click here.
