Cardiff School of Engineering is recognised as one of the best Engineering schools within the British university system in terms of facilities, research and teaching.

The School has received independent recognition for the quality of its undergraduate provision. Our degree programmes for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering are recognised as being among the best in the UK, as ranked by independent organisations and the various league tables. The quality of the School's teaching has been independently assessed by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and almost all of our degree programmes were rated EXCELLENT. In the league tables produced by the various educational supplements Cardiff School of Engineering's degree programmes rank highly eg Times Good University Guide (Integrated and Medical Engineering 4th, Civil Engineering 4th, Mechanical Engineering 10th). Cardiff is one of the very few engineering schools nationwide which is an invited member of both the UK Electronic Skills Foundation and the Power Academy.
The School has a vibrant research culture and has been recognised for the quality of its research in the recent Research Assessment Exercise, consolidating its position in the top ten Engineering Schools in the UK.

Our high standard of teaching and research is complemented by outstanding, up-to-date facilities. The School is located in the Queen's Buildings, a modern complex which incorporates a student cafeteria, a coffee shop, 24 hour computing facilities and a library which has recently been completely refurbished, winning a national award for innovative design. The School has also invested in creating a new flexible learning space for students and staff to engage in group learning, single study, or just take a break for coffee and a chat.
